Our flagship product, rha, is wine made with rhubarb from Maine farms. This refreshing wine is dry and a bit acidic. It is meant to be served chilled. It pairs well with fatty and sweet foods. It also pairs well with fried seafood. This wine is sophisticated enough for wine drinkers but is approachable enough for the craft beer drinker.
This year's wine is made with rhubarb from Spiller Farm in Wells and Dole's Orchard in Limington.
go ahead. it's ok. you can call it strawberry-rhubarb. and you will. but we know better. rhubarb takes top billing despite what your nose will tell you after a big blast of juicy red strawberry. dry and tart, the way we like our wines, honeoye hits on a flavor combination you know and love but without the sugary sweetness of a dessert.
We named our hard cider 'ohm' with a nod to our space in the old Rockingham Electric building. This hard cider is dry, light, and still. Unlike traditional American ciders, this is made in the style of 'English Eastern Counties' cider It is made with locally appropriate Maine eating and cooking apples rather than "cider" apple varieties.
maine summers are beautiful but short. we think drinking rhubarb is something that should be enjoyed year round. so here comes wintrus. a wine from maine rhubarb, aged for at least six months in oak barrels which previously held cabernet sauvignon, introducing a welcome complexity to help make this dry, maine rhubarb wine perfect for cooler weather.
We took our ohm cider and barrel aged it. We used cinnamon whiskey barrels. It is still dry, light, and still but now with delicious cinnamon notes and has a more complex flavor.
